Executive chef John Paulk established the Portland catering company Mezzaluna Fine Catering in 2005. Since then, Mezzaluna has become recognized in the Portland Metro Area for its outstanding cuisine, impeccable attention to detail, and un-matched service and care to its clients.
Chef John is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu culinary school and upon completion was awarded a highest honors medal and the Diplôme Le Cordon Bleu from Academie d’Art Culinaire de Paris.
Since 2004, Chef John has made makes regular appearances on television for KATU’s AM Northwest, conducting cooking segments. Mezzaluna has also been featured in the Oregonian newspaper, and in 2007, Mezzaluna Fine Catering was rated by CitySearch.com as one of the finest caterers in Portland, Oregon.
In 2007 and 2008, John was honored to have been a guest teacher at The Northwest Women’s Show and was privileged to judge a statewide food competition at the 2006 Rose Festival. In the fall of 2008, Mezzaluna was featured in Home and Garden Northwest magazine.

In addition to John Paulk, Mezzaluna Fine Catering is honored to have built a solid team of talented chefs and service personnel who have wide- ranging experience cooking, teaching, or assisting in some of Portland’s finest restaurants, culinary schools, and cooking establishments.
The Mezzaluna staff has cooked for head coach Nate McMillan and members of the Portland Trail Blazers, corporate CEO’s, company executives, and popular media personalities.
Mezzaluna is concerned about the proliferation of organic, sustainable foods in the Northwest, and strives to be green in business practices and service to its clients and purveyors.
